On Today this first day of KWANZAA which represents the principal Umoja (Unity): To strive for and to maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race…
Today – I sat in tears of deep despair for those truths that have been kept from our African American Minds on a grand scale. Tears for the lost opportunities and lost human minds and Centuries of lies perpetuated on Black, Bodies, Minds and Souls.
At one point, I sat in anger that our Blessed African History was first stripped and our American History beyond Slavery was kept from so many of us in public schools and in our life times here in America.
Then I sat in tears of Joy and Celebration and deep thought about my future and others like me, after taking the time to learn about my African American Ancestor Maggie Lena Walker!
(In 1903 – The Daughter of a Slave Who Did the Unthinkable: Build a Bank
The first Black woman to run a U.S. bank, Maggie Lena Walker saw the economic independence of her peers as an ethical imperative. ‘Let us have a bank that will take the nickels and turn them into dollars,’ she said…Wall Street Journal)
This Black Woman, who was a Shero and All about Unity!!! She had an extensive, Innovative Mind. Miss Maggie was an Entrepreneur, Teacher and Keeper  of My Culture and Race of People! I Honor Miss Maggie Lena Walker who was a powerful example of Unity in the African American community in her day! Miss Maggie, through her actions stood for and promoted Unity, self preservation and outreach to others. I challenge all to study her example which can still be utilized to Bless Black People and All People Today!!!  https://www.pbslearningmedia.org/resource/a9dedf68-e383-4d04-85a0-0a5ac0ed2eac/our-inspiration-the-story-of-maggie-lena-walker/
